1What is it?

Accidents can injure the skin, bones, nerves and tendons. A plastic surgeon repairs these carefully so they heal well and work properly.

Common injuries treated are facial cuts and fractures, hand and finger injuries (including nerves and tendons), and lower leg injuries with exposed wounds.

2Is it right for me?

It may help if:

  • You have a deep cut on the face and want it to heal with the least scar
  • You have a hand or finger injury, numbness, or difficulty moving fingers
  • You have a leg wound after an accident that is not healing or has exposed bone

3How is it done?

  1. The injury is examined, with X-rays or scans if needed.
  2. Facial cuts are repaired in layers with fine stitches to reduce scarring.
  3. Hand injuries may need repair of tendons, nerves or bones so the hand works well again.
  4. Large leg wounds may need skin grafts or flaps to cover and heal them.

4Recovery

  • Recovery depends on the injury. Dressings, stitch removal and follow-up are planned for you.
  • Hand injuries often need physiotherapy to regain movement.

5Is it safe?

Dr. Swathi plans every procedure to keep risks low. Still, it is good to know the possibilities:

  • Possible issues include infection, wound breakdown and thick scars — careful repair and follow-up reduce these.

6What affects the cost?

  • Type and extent of injury
  • Clinic repair or theatre surgery
  • Dressings and follow-up

Consultation: ₹500 — you get a clear, full cost before you decide.

7Other options

  • Simple dressing for small, superficial wounds

8Common questions

Should I see a plastic surgeon for a facial cut?

For deep or irregular cuts on the face, careful layered repair can make a real difference to the scar.

Can old injury scars be improved?

Often yes, with scar revision or laser. Ask at your consultation.

Good questions to ask at your consultation:

  • Am I a suitable candidate for accident & injury care?
  • What result is realistic for me?
  • What will recovery involve, and when can I return to work?
  • What is the total cost, including follow-up visits?
